A substantial vintage silver ring from Yemen, set with a large oval carnelian cabochon in a beautiful brick-red tone.
The stone is mounted in a high setting surrounded by finely worked silver with a filigree-style border, while the broad shoulders feature applied and pierced decoration. This type of construction and ornamentation is characteristic of traditional Yemeni silver jewelry and the wider Bedouin jewelry tradition of the Arabian Peninsula.

The lower part of the ring band is noticeably worn and thinned, as clearly shown in the photographs. The carnelian remains securely mounted.
