Vintage Konyak Naga multi-strand necklace from North East India
This exceptional necklace is made of 52 strands of glass beads. This kind of necklace comes from a tribe in the North East India : the Konyaks from Nagaland. Konyak people were known to be head hunters.

References: A very similar necklace in the collection of the "Musée Ethnographique du Quai Branly" (Ethnographic Museum) in Paris inventory number 70.2001.8.8. The ethnographic picture have been taken in 1936 in Nagaland.
