Old Omani silver necklace circa 1950
This beautiful vintage necklace comes from the Sultanate of Oman. It is an antique piece from the mid-20th century.
The necklace features a box in the center, which must contain a protective text (probably verses from the Koran). The box (hirz) is closed, and I haven't opened it. Attached to the box as ornamentation are 16 small hand-shaped pendants. The pendant is framed by 16 spiked beads and finished with two longer beads. The rope is original. It shows many signs of use.
