Antique Rajasthan Silver Chagda Box Amulet – Carnelian & Bird Motifs
A large traditional Chagda amulet pendant from Rajasthan, India, dating to the first half of the 20th century.
The pendant is constructed as a hollow silver box in a barbed arrowhead form, richly decorated with engraved floral and bird motifs. Numerous small suspended elements hang from the lower edge, while two floral-decorated suspension rings allow the piece to be worn from a cord or chain.
A central carnelian cabochon adds a warm contrast to the silver.
