Antique Katesari Arsi ring from Uttar Pradesh India
This mirror ring (arsi) is beautiful. It is old and was probably made in the Indian state of Uttar Pradesh.
The flower consists of two rows of yellow petals. These petals are made of glass inlaid into the frame using the Katesari technique. The petals are in mint condition. The mirror is slightly stained and scratched but without major damage.
The ring is open, it is decorated with granulations.
This magnificent jewel was worn on the thumb and allowed the woman to check her beauty at any time.
This type of ring is back in fashion, and there are recently manufactured rings with a mirror.
